About The Sincere Christian (Bishop George Hay)
This is a classic work on the Catholic faith in a question and answer format by one
of the greatest minds of the church in Scotland, Bishop George Hay.
In this catechism he covers every possible topic of interest to the faithful from who Jesus Christ is, to the infallibility of the Pope, to how to deal with people of different faiths.
Bishop Hay was someone who pulled no punches. He was imprisoned as a youth by the British for helping wounded soldiers as a doctor. When he became a bishop he fought
hard for improving Catholic rights under the tough penal laws of his time. As a result
he had his house and chapel burned down.
A deeply devout man and the first person to publish an English Catholic Bible in Scotland.
In this work he covers the following topics:
Chapter I: Of God
Chapter II: Of The Blessed Trinity
Chapter III: Of The Creation And Providence
Chapter IV: On The Creation And Fall Of The Angels
Chapter V: Of The Creation And Fall Of Man
Chapter VI: Of The Promise Of A Redeemer, And The State Of Mankind Till His Coming
