Lijster

Get a notification as soon as your desired bird is in your neighborhood.

That is what Lijster is all about. You set which birds you would like to see and
how far you are willing to cycle — and as soon as one appears, you know it.
No more rarities that you only see listed on the internet in the evening.

— The radar —
Up to three fixed locations: home, work, your usual route. Each with its own
search area. Additionally, turn on the national radar for the real
rarities, and set the level at which you want to be disturbed.
If a friend sees something special, you will hear about it too.

— Cups with your friends —
Who sees the most species this year? Or just the rare ones? Create a
points race, a photo cup, or your own list: who is the first to see all
waders of the Wadden Sea? There is even a mode where a bird only
counts as long as you are the only one who has seen it. What you win goes into your
trophy cabinet. — Birding Together —
Are you out watching with a friend and your buddy doesn't feel like typing everything in? Just send your sightings to him — he accepts them and they appear in his list, photos and all. Share your find as a card with the bird on it, straight out of the app to WhatsApp or Instagram. Follow what your friends see, give compliments, and join the conversation under each other's finds.

— Your List, Effortlessly —
Every sighting contributes to your annual list and your life list. Add photos, record whether you saw or heard it, and write down what caught your eye. You can also enter multiple birds at once. Already have a list elsewhere? Import it from eBird. And with one tap, you can send a sighting to Waarneming.nl, with everything already filled in.

— More than 600 birds —
Every species with its own pattern, sound recordings, a distribution map, and the months in which you can expect to see it. Plus a tip on where to look. — You decide what others see —

Hide your exact location, turn off comments, decide whether you can be followed, or keep your profile entirely under friends. You can hide the location separately for each sighting.

Free, without ads. Just start with the bird you saw this morning.
