Coin Volcano

Work out glaze chemistry, test blends and plan 🗺️ kiln firings.

Coin Volcano is a studio notebook for potters who mix 🥣 their own glazes. Write a recipe and see 👀 what it will do in the kiln, before you fire a single tile.

Each glaze gets a clear read-out. You see 👀 the unity molecular formula, the surface (gloss, satin, matte or dry), how well it melts, how it fits a clay body, and whether it has durability flags. Charts 📊 show where the glaze sits and why ❓.

What you can do in the app 📱:
• Keep a list 📋 of glazes, filter 🎚️ them by cone range and sort 🔄 them by recent edits.
• Edit recipes in parts or percent ％, with base materials and additions such as colorants.
• Build 🔨 a line or biaxial blend grid, and check ✅ every test tile for surface, fit, stability and color.
• Match a recipe to the materials on your shelf, or solve for a recipe that reaches a target 🎯 formula.
• Plan 🗺️ a firing with a controller program, a predicted peak temperature and predicted witness cones.
• Log 📝 the real cones after a firing, so the planner 🗺️ learns how your kiln behaves.
• Track your materials, with their oxide analysis, and mark what you have in stock.
• Switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Coin Volcano starts with eight tested starter glazes, such as Clear Gloss, Satin White, Celadon and Tenmoku, so you have something to explore on day one.

Use Coin Volcano to understand a glaze, adjust it with care, and fire with fewer surprises.
