About Bird List: Birding Journal
Your birding life, in your pocket — and yours alone.
Bird List is a complete birding and bird-photography journal, built to work 100% offline and to respect your data like no other app in its class.
Real privacy
• No account, no sign-up, no ads — open and use
• Your records live ONLY on your phone
• Optional backup to YOUR Google Drive, in an app-private area — not even we can see your data
• No telemetry, no tracking
Made by a photographer, for photographers and birders
• Record sightings, vocalizations and photos — with a 1–5 photo quality rating
• Mark sex (male/female/pair), age (adult/juvenile/chick) and flock
• Attach your own photo and audio to each record
• Date with or without time, location by GPS or search, free tags
Complete built-in taxonomy
• 27,000+ taxa (eBird/Clements + iNaturalist) including subspecies
• Reference photo for every species (iNaturalist, with author credit)
• Accent-insensitive search; English and Portuguese names
Smart lists
• Filter by country, state, municipality, family, order, dates, marks, sex/age/flock, minimum rating and tags
• Manual lists and TARGET lists: species you want to find, with progress tracking and offline media (photo + reference song) to recognize the bird in the field with no signal
• Explore: browse your records by place and by taxonomy with zero manual organizing
Bring your history
• WikiAves: import your records with photos, place, sex and age
• iNaturalist: import your observations by username
• Open JSON export/import — your data is never locked in Explore
• Map of your sightings (tap a pin and return to the exact spot via Maps)
• Statistics: lifers per year, families, countries, collection coverage
• English and Portuguese
Download and start recording — no account, no e-mail, no giving up your data.

What’s new
Version 1.2.0 · Updated September 22, 2026
Share list now sends the list together with its records — photos and audio included, as a .zip. Photo view: • Species lists now open in Photo view — if you had turned it off, your choice stays • Tapping a photo does the same as tapping the row: it opens the species • The camera button in the corner opens the photo full-screen; a globe marks a reference photo that isn't yours
