A fox once saw a crow fly off with a piece of meat in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree.
“What is this?” cried the fox. “Crow, the elegant proportions of your body are remarkable, and you have a complexion that is worthy of the king of the birds! If only you had a voice to match, then you would be first among the fowl!”
The fox said these things to trick the crow and the crow fell for it: he let out a great squawk and dropped his meat.
The fox then grabbed the meat and said, “Crow, you do have a voice, but no brains to go with it!”
