About Giga Lab Mini Tools
Giga Lab is a collection of independent mini tools in one lightweight app. No account, no ads, no weird permissions, no internet needed.
Available tools:
🎨 Color Palette — generate random or color-wheel-harmonic palettes. Every color gets its human name (from a dictionary of almost 5000 named colors), a tap-to-copy HEX code, and a lock to keep the colors you like while rerolling the rest. From 2 to 10 colors per palette.
🔐 Password Lab — strong random passwords (length 8–64, configurable character classes, ambiguous-character filter) and Italian diceware-style passphrases, with an honest entropy meter. Everything is generated on your device and never stored.
📐 Bubble Level — a pocket spirit level driven by the tilt sensor: circular dial, per-axis degrees, zero calibration on any reference surface, and a hold button to freeze the reading.
🎵 Sound Lab — a tone generator with four waveforms (sine, square, sawtooth, triangle), a logarithmic frequency slider from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with musical note readout, and a theremin pad: slide your finger to glide pitch and volume in real time.
📊 Stat Lab — the classic probability distributions (normal, uniform, exponential, Poisson, binomial) explained by playing with them: move the parameters, watch the curve, then draw random samples and see the histogram converge to the theory. Mean and standard deviation of your sample, live.
✏️ Doodle Lab — draw a quick sketch and a tiny neural network running entirely on your phone guesses what it is among 40 categories (cat, house, pizza, umbrella…). Challenge mode: the app picks a subject and scores you when it recognises your drawing. Trained on the Quick, Draw! dataset (Google, CC BY 4.0); no internet needed, ever.
🔑 Cipher Lab — the classic ciphers, hands on: Caesar with any shift (ROT13 one tap away), Vigenère with a keyword, Atbash. Then turn attacker: paste an intercepted message and the frequency-analysis cracker ranks all 26 shifts by how much each one looks like real English or Italian, with the letter histogram to back it up.
📊 Sort Lab — six sorting algorithms racing on the same shuffled bars: bubble, insertion, selection, merge, quick and heap. Watch them move one comparison at a time, or let them run; the counters tell you how many comparisons and writes each one spent. Seeing selection sort do the same work no matter what, or quick sort choke on an already sorted array, explains more than a page of theory.
🔲 Life Lab — three famous cellular automata on one board. Conway's Game of Life, where you can tap cells alive and watch gliders sail across a wrap-around world. Wolfram's elementary rules, from chaotic 30 to the Sierpiński triangle of 90, drawn one generation per row. And Langton's ant, that wanders at random for thousands of steps and then, out of nowhere, starts building a highway.
More tools are coming: the app grows with every release.
