About Roadside Bermuda
Roadside is a free driving app made for Bermuda, and only Bermuda. Find your way • Turn-by-turn directions across the island, with clear turn banners, left-hand driving hints and an arrival time. • The whole island's map and road network are on your phone, so the map, search and directions keep working with no signal. • Search for places by name or category: groceries, gas, food, parking, beaches, hospitals and more, sorted by how far they are by road, not as the crow flies. • Save Home, Work and your favourite places. • Voice search for your destination, recognised on your iPhone. Know what is ahead • Live reports from other drivers: accidents, traffic, roadworks, potholes, flooding, fire, animals and horses on the road, broken-down vehicles, lines down, blocked lanes and closures. • Alerts only for the road you are on, ahead of you, going your way. • Caution zones: schools during school hours, playgrounds, Railway Trail crossings, seniors' residences and the hospital approach. • Live traffic colours on the roads, built from anonymous trips. • Spoken alerts and directions in one calm voice that lowers your music instead of stopping it. Report in two taps • Driving: six big buttons and a short spoken countdown, so your eyes stay on the road. • Passenger: every report type, with details, a short note and a photo. • Tap "Still there" or "Not there" on other drivers' reports to keep the map honest. Old reports fade away on their own. Made for the island • Rider mode for bikes and scooters: bigger buttons and wet-road warnings. • Night mode that follows Bermuda's sunrise and sunset. • Kilometres or miles. • An emergency card with Bermuda's emergency numbers, and Roadside help: call 911, share your location with someone you choose, or put a broken-down vehicle pin up for nearby drivers. Not in Bermuda yet? • Open the menu and choose Demo drive: a two-minute simulated drive in Hamilton with directions, alerts and traffic. Your privacy • No account and no sign-up. • Traffic sharing is anonymous: each trip gets a new random code, and the first and last 300 metres of every trip are never sent. • Turn off traffic sharing, background location or anything else in Settings, Privacy, at any time. Download your data or delete it all from the app. • No tracking, and your data is never sold. Drive safely. Alerts are advisory. Always obey road signs, the police and the law, and keep your eyes on the road.
What’s new
Version 1.0.1 · Updated October 26, 2026
Clearer spoken directions Turn instructions now come at a better moment: early enough to get in the right lane. When two turns are close together, you hear both, one straight after the other. Better hazard warnings Warnings about accidents, flooding, closed roads and other reports are now timed to come before you reach them, and the same hazard is not repeated. Quiet during phone calls Roadside no longer talks over your calls. Directions and alerts keep showing on screen, and a single short chime tells you when a serious hazard is ahead. Voice alerts return as soon as the call ends. Speed limits The lower limits in Dockyard (25 km/h) and on and near Somerset Bridge (15 km/h) are now shown beside your speed. Reports with no signal Reports and Still there / Not there taps made with no signal are saved and tried again when you're back online, while they're still useful. If a report is too old to help, Roadside tells you. Updated Terms of use Our Terms of use now include a section on speed limits and speed warnings. You'll be asked to agree once after updating. Fixes • Roadside stops using your location when you end your trip, arrive, stay parked for ten minutes or walk away from your car. • When you end a trip, Roadside says "Trip ended." and then nothing more. • Steadier directions on winding roads. • Many smaller fixes and improvements.
