About Beamroll: Photos to Desktop

Beamroll puts the photos you pick on your iPhone straight into a folder on a Mac on the same Wi-Fi. You use the iPhone app and the Mac app together. - Straight into a Mac folder Photos land in ~/Pictures/Beamroll/, in a folder for each date. The date is the day you sent it. The same photo is never written twice. - Text becomes a .txt, automatically (OCR) Your Mac reads any text in the photos it receives. If it finds text, it places a .txt file with the same name next to the photo. Text reading covers English and Japanese; vertical Japanese needs macOS 26 or later. You can turn it off in the Mac app's settings. - For translating books Reading a paper book in English? Take a picture of the page with "Take & Send". The photo and a .txt of its text appear side by side in the folder on your Mac, ready to paste into a translator or dictionary without retyping. Beamroll itself does not translate. - Never sends on its own It sends only the photos you choose on the transfer screen and the one shot you take with the app's own shutter. Nothing is sent in the background. - Connect with a QR Open "Connect an iPhone" from the Mac menu bar and scan the QR with your iPhone. - Your photos stay between your iPhone and your Mac The connection is encrypted with TLS 1.2 (ECDHE_PSK). The Mac creates the key and hands it to the iPhone through the QR. No cloud, no account. - An easy transfer screen Switch between grid and list. Filter by period (today, yesterday, this week, a chosen date and more), unsent or sent, camera or screenshots, and favorites. - Pricing Free to use, up to 10 photos a day. Pro, a one-time in-app purchase, removes the limit. Pro changes only the limit. The Mac app is free. - Requirements iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later and a Mac with macOS 14.0 or later, on the same network. The app is available in English and Japanese.
