DENTMAN: Dentist GO!

DENTMAN: Dentist GO! is a waiting-time game for the dentist's chair. Dentman runs only while the child keeps their mouth open. HOW TO PLAY 1. Press Start and follow the prompt to open the mouth and say "AAH" once (3 seconds) 2. The thresholds are set to fit that child's mouth 3. Dentman runs while the mouth stays open, and slows to a stop when it closes 4. The scenery changes with the time the mouth stays open 5. At the end you see the tooth coins collected and the total time the mouth was open MADE FOR DENTAL PRACTICE - During treatment, the child watches how far they got instead of how long is left - Closing the mouth is never a failure. The character slows down, and runs again when the mouth reopens - The screen never flashes. No sudden loud sounds - Staff can pause at any time, or press Finish to go straight to the result - The final screen shows total open time, longest continuous open time, and how many times the face was lost CAMERA AND DATA - The camera is used to tell whether the mouth is open or closed - The camera image is not shown while playing unless you press the camera button at the bottom right, which lets the child see their own mouth - Pressing the shutter saves that one photo to your own device's photo library. Nothing is saved unless you press it - The "Detection Test" screen for staff shows the camera image, to check it before treatment - The app never records video and never connects to the internet. There is nothing to send - No account, no sign-in, no advertising, no in-app purchases HOW IT DETECTS - On devices with a TrueDepth camera, it reads the mouth opening from the face shape - On other devices, it reads the gap between the lips from the camera image - There is also a Manual mode that uses no camera: the character runs while you hold the screen (for places where a camera cannot be used, or when a child is afraid of it). Staff turn it on from the "Detection Test" screen LANGUAGES Japanese and English. Switch at the bottom right of the title screen. PLEASE NOTE This app is not a treatment tool or a medical device. It cannot be used for diagnosis or treatment decisions. It is a toy to make waiting at the dentist more fun. Dentman is a life-size hero from Osaka, Japan, who works to help children stop being afraid of the dentist and of brushing their teeth.
