OnlyText: TXT & EPUB Reader

OnlyText is a reader that does one thing: show your plain-text files and ebooks well. No ads, no subscription. • Read your files as they are Import TXT, EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, Markdown, DOCX, ODT, RTF and HTML files—or whole folders—from the Files app, or drop them into the OnlyText folder in Files. Your folder structure is kept. Read PDFs as they are, or as text with your own font. You can also add books from Finder on a Mac or the Apple Devices app on Windows. • Import from WebDAV Add a WebDAV server—a NAS such as Synology or QNAP, Nextcloud or ownCloud—browse its folders, and download books or whole folders. • Text that just works Encodings such as EUC-KR, Shift_JIS, GB18030, Big5 and Windows-1252 are detected automatically. If text still looks wrong, switch the encoding or convert to UTF-8. • Markdown that looks like a document Headings, lists, tables, quotes and code blocks are laid out properly. Code is syntax-highlighted, and Mermaid diagrams are drawn as pictures you can tap to enlarge. • Make it yours Change the font, size, line spacing, colors and margins, and keep different settings per book. Fonts installed on your device and fonts from the Files app work too. On large screens or in landscape, read two pages side by side like a printed book. • Turn pages your way Tap or swipe, use the volume buttons, and choose your own tap zones. Connect a Bluetooth keyboard, page-turner remote or gamepad and assign any button to next page, previous page or the menu. • Read aloud and auto reading OnlyText can read your book aloud. Pick a voice and speed, and follow along as the current word is highlighted. It keeps reading with the screen off, and you can pause or skip from the Lock Screen and Control Center. For hands-free reading, try Auto Page Turn, Word Highlight or One Word at a Time. • Pick up where you left off Recent books are on the first screen and Reading History keeps the rest. The last page opens the next book in the folder, and Shortcuts can turn pages too. • Search your library and your books Search titles, authors, bookmarks, notes and the full text of every book. Inside a book, find a word and jump straight to it. • Bookmarks, highlights and notes Bookmark the page, or touch and hold text to save a passage; the handles fine-tune the selection. Saved passages are highlighted and collected with your bookmarks. Add a note to any passage, and export highlights, notes and bookmarks from all your books as Markdown or as a CSV for Readwise. • Book info and collections Give each book a rating, review, tags, genre, publisher and year, and group books into collections. Browse by collection, tag, author, publisher, genre, year or rating. Select several books to move or delete them at once. • Secret Folder and locked books Keep private books in the Secret Folder. It opens only with Face ID or your passcode, its books stay out of recents and Browse, and it locks again when you leave the app. You can also lock a single book. • Continue on your other devices (iCloud sync) Reading positions and bookmarks sync through iCloud across your devices. Import the same book on each one and pick up where you left off. Book files and settings aren’t synced. • Apple Watch remote and bookmarks Turn pages on your iPhone from your Apple Watch—tap, use Double Tap or turn the Digital Crown, with adjustable sensitivity. Save the current page and see your bookmarks by book. • Private by design Book files stay on your device. Synced positions and bookmarks live in your own iCloud account, and Secret Folder books aren’t synced. The developer collects no data.
