About Tapewind: Cassette Player

Play your music on a real-feeling cassette deck. Every album and playlist in your library becomes a tape — pick one, drop it in, press PLAY. One purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account. PICK A TAPE • Your albums and playlists stack up as cassettes, split into side A and side B like a real C-60 • Tap a tape to pull it from the stack, double-tap to load it and start playing • Every tape remembers exactly where you stopped — eject it, come back later, carry on REAL KEYS • PLAY and PAUSE latch down like the real thing, STOP releases them • Hold FF or REW to cue through the song, double-tap to jump to the next one • Flick the SIDE switch to turn the tape over • Reels turn at the right speed: the smaller pack spins faster as the tape runs • Mechanical clicks and clunks (turn them off any time) 11 DECKS, 1950s TO 2000s • A wooden 1950s console with a glowing dial and a magic-eye lamp • A 1960s portable with one lever for rewind and fast-forward • A 70s deck with VU needles, an 80s silver deck, a 90s auto-reverse player, a 2000s personal stereo • Car stereo, boombox, studio deck with working ±10% pitch, pocket recorder with two speeds, and a VFD deck • Each one has its own controls, not just a new color MADE FOR iPHONE AND iPAD • The whole screen is the deck — the cassette stands upright and fills the window • Lock Screen and Control Center controls, plays in the background • Portrait and landscape Tapewind plays songs from your Music library: music you bought and songs you added from Apple Music (an Apple Music subscription is needed for those). Nothing is collected or sent anywhere. Questions or ideas? Visit tapewind.siamclaw.com/support — we read everything.

What’s new

Version 1.1.0 · Updated October 25, 2026

New deck: PS-79, the first personal stereo of 1979. Blue brushed aluminium, metal keys down a silver side, twin headphone jacks, and a smoked door over your tape. Made for iPhone Duo: • Folded, every deck fits around the camera and clock. On PS-79 the keys sit right under the clock. • Open it up and your tapes stand spine-out on a shelf next to the deck. Double-tap a spine or drag it across the fold to load it. Tap a spine to read its J-card. • Open PS-79 and you look inside the machine: the tape sits in its bay over the main board. New deck tray: tap the settings button and swipe through the decks. The machine changes as each one reaches the middle, so you see it turn into the next. Also: the 60s portable loses its teak trim, and layouts now follow the screen you're using rather than the device type.
