About Fin AAC

Fin AAC puts frontier AI to work on one thing: helping your loved one be heard. Fin is a talking picture board for people of any age who can't rely on speech. Tap a picture and Fin says the word out loud, so the people nearby hear it right away. But unlike a fixed grid that someone has to program by hand, Fin's board thinks. AI picks the words, draws the pictures and learns from every tap. WHO IT'S FOR Children and adults who are minimally speaking or non-speaking: autism, apraxia, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, stroke, ALS, or anyone just starting out with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). And the families, caregivers, teachers and therapists who support them. There are no boards to build: enter your loved one's age and interests and Fin is ready to use. HOW IT WORKS • It reads the moment. Fin weighs where you are (with your permission), the time of day, what they just tapped and their favorite things, and puts the words they're most likely to need right on the screen: nuggets and ketchup at a restaurant, swings and slides at the park, bath and pajamas at bedtime. • It learns them. Words they reach for in a place move to the front there. The more they use Fin, the better it knows them. • Any word, with a picture. Tap the microphone and say any word. Fin finds its picture, and if there isn't one yet, it draws one, along with related words to go with it. • "Try again" for new ideas. If none of the words fit, one tap brings a fresh set. MADE TO BE YOURS • Core words like "more", "help" and "all done" are always one tap away. • Add your own words and use family photos as pictures. • Pin favorites where they're easy to reach. • A caregiver lock keeps editing and settings from being changed by accident. • Room for more words on a tablet. FREE, PRIVATE AND CALM • Free to use, with no locked features. • No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Taps, the profile you enter and your photos stay on the device, your voice is never sent to us, and word suggestions are worked out on the device itself. Location is used only to recognise the kind of place you're in, and only when you allow it. • A quiet ocean palette, clear labels, and motion that respects your device's reduced-motion setting. MADE BY A FAMILY Fin started as a tool for our own son. We use it every day, at home, at the store and out with friends, and we fix what we find. Questions, or wondering whether Fin is a good fit for your family? Write to [email protected]. Fin AAC is a communication aid. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
