About Routovie

Turn your route into a video. Routovie turns the route in a GPX file into a smooth map animation (MP4). No account needed — everything happens on your device. ■ Three steps 1. Open a GPX — straight from Strava, Garmin Connect, a bike computer, RaceChrono, OBD NINJA or any other GPX source 2. Refine the route — GPS jumps and tunnel gaps are smoothed automatically; just pick a map style, camera and duration, and add comments wherever you like 3. Export as MP4 — saved to your photo library, ready to share ■ Landscape, portrait or square Choose 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, or 1:1 for your feed. Vertical video pairs beautifully with the Follow camera. ■ Three map styles - Liberty — a standard map with clear road colors - Positron — light grey that makes the route stand out - Aerial — aerial photos from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (Japan only) ■ Two cameras - Overview — the whole route stays in frame while the line grows - Follow — zooms in on the head of the route, then pulls back to reveal it all ■ Add notes along the way Tap the route to pin a short comment (up to 40 characters) on the places you stopped or the views you loved. Comments appear in the video as callouts with a leader line — show each one as you pass it, or all of them from the start. Comments are saved with each GPX file and come back when you open it again. ■ Export settings Duration (the route fits the length you choose, however long the activity took), zoom, resolution (720p / 1080p / 4K) at 30 fps. Scrub through any moment of your video in the preview to check comments for overlaps before you export. ■ Made for - Sharing cycling, running and hiking routes on social media - Summing up a trip in one short clip, with notes on the highlights and rest stops - Title and closing shots for driving, riding and running videos ■ Free to start, buy once if you like it Every feature is free. Free exports carry a "rendering by Routovie" watermark. Pay once to remove it — no subscription, no renewals. ■ Privacy Your GPX never leaves your device. Routovie doesn't use location, camera or microphone permissions. The only network access is fetching map tiles from OpenFreeMap and GSI to draw the map. ■ Supported GPX Reads GPX 1.1 tracks (trk). Tested with exports from Strava, Garmin Connect, bike computers, RaceChrono and OBD NINJA. GPS embedded in GoPro videos needs converting to GPX first (direct import is planned). Use OBD NINJA? Export a drive log as GPX and turn it into a video with Routovie. Map data: © OpenMapTiles © OpenStreetMap contributors / Source: Geospatial Information Authority of Japan
