With Apple Intelligence turned on, a compatible iPhone also makes a cleaner reading version alongside the original, organizes spoken lists into bullets or checklists, and gives new recordings a short title. Check off items on iPhone or Apple Watch. Capture a thought on a walk, practice a monologue, or record a meeting to revisit its decisions and next steps. Start in the app, with Siri or Shortcuts, from Apple Watch, or with a supported Action button. Your Watch hands recordings to your iPhone. Dictate is free, with no account or subscription. Audio transcription stays on your iPhone, and we collect no data. On eligible iOS 27 devices, you can choose Apple Private Cloud Compute for the reading version and title. Apple applies its own usage limits. An optional webhook can send original transcripts to your own agent or automation.
