About JLPT Prep: Japanese Practice
Practice for the JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) N5 to N2 with quick 4-choice quizzes on vocabulary, kanji and grammar. Pick a level, pick a section, and answer 10 questions at a time. A verb and adjective conjugation drill is included as a bonus. ■ PICK A JLPT LEVEL AND START - Choose a level on the top screen, listed from hardest to easiest (N2, N3, N4, N5) - Practice each level by section: Vocabulary or Grammar - The level you used last is marked so you can pick up where you left off ■ QUESTIONS (ALL ORIGINAL, 240 IN ALL) [Vocabulary] 30 questions each for N5, N4, N3 and N2: kanji reading, writing in kanji, words in context and paraphrases, plus word usage for N3 and N2 and word formation for N2 [Grammar] 30 questions each for N5, N4, N3 and N2: choose the word or phrase that fits the blank ■ CLEAR EXPLANATIONS - After you answer, open the explanation with the button at the bottom of the screen: why the answer is right and why the other choices don't fit - The button turns orange when you miss - On the results screen, read the explanation for each question you missed, or retry only the ones you missed ■ EASY TO READ FOR BEGINNERS - Turn furigana (kanji readings) on or off. N5 and N4 start with furigana on, and your choice is saved for each level - N5 and N4 questions use kanji and words for each level, with spaces between words - In kanji reading and writing questions, the kanji being tested have no furigana, so the answer stays hidden ■ SEE YOUR PROGRESS - Progress is shown for each level and each section - Your record is saved when you close the app, and you can clear it for one level to start over ■ BONUS: VERB AND ADJECTIVE CONJUGATION - Drill te-form, ta-form, nai-form, potential, passive, causative and more with 4-choice quizzes - 48 verbs and 38 adjectives, each with its English meaning - Built-in guide explaining how to make each form from the masu-form ■ ALSO - Works offline - Streak bonuses and sound effects keep practice fun (sound follows your iPhone's silent switch) ■ GOOD FOR - Anyone taking the JLPT N5 to N2 - Students learning Japanese, and people from abroad working in Japan - Teachers who want a review tool for their classes Note: The app screens are in Japanese. Questions and explanations are in Japanese, and every conjugation-practice word has an English meaning. This app is free and supported by ads. This app is not an official JLPT app and is not affiliated with the test's organizers. All questions are original to this app.
