The board is full of colored cubes. In your hand is a card with an arrow on it. Drop that card anywhere you like. It takes the color of the square it lands on, then fires a beam the way the arrow points, and every matching cube in that line pops. Hit another arrow along the way and the chain keeps going, cube to cube, until the last one bursts. That is the game, and it is the kind you win by reading the board.
