About Seolhwa Dungeon: Roguelike RPG

Old tales, turned into a dungeon. A silver mine where goblin fire drifts. A royal tomb with its coffins already open. A marsh that wets your ankles in fog. A fox den where one shadow too many follows you. And the underworld, which opens only for those carrying two beads. One turn decides everything. There is no undo, and death sends you back to the first floor. In return the dungeon is redrawn every time, and you walk out with a different story. - Folktales as rules: bow to a funeral procession or block its way, wrestle a dokkaebi, accept a meal from the snail maiden. Every choice has its price, and the gods are watching. - Eight gods, eight taboos: favour comes with a rule attached, and breaking it brings wrath. - 14 species and 12 classes, from bear-folk and serpents to shamans, geomancers and jesters. - A card at every level: 32 to draw from, so no two runs of the same class grow alike. - 134 yokai, each with the folktale it came from, recorded in the codex. - One hand, portrait, fully offline. No account, no internet. 40 minutes to two hours per run.

What’s new

Version 2.3 · Updated October 22, 2026

• Every dungeon has its own layout now: mine tunnels, symmetrical tomb halls, swamp islands and lakes, winding caves, and the gate roads of the Underworld. All seven branches got their own shapes too. • Dozens of special terrains such as the River of Three Crossings, moonlit ponds and stone burial chambers, and water appears in every dungeon. • Four new themed rooms: fire your gear in the Kiln, answer the ghost doctor's questions in the Apothecary, free a prisoner from the Jail, and rest at the Tavern. • From floor 2, each floor has two themed rooms and shrines to two different gods. Treasure sites, folktale processions and floor days show up about once per dungeon. • Anything that can't swim drowns when pushed or thrown into deep water. Bosses and named foes only take damage. • Monsters now use their combat skills on your allies too. Signature skills like name-calling and transformations still target only you. • Class and species changes: the staff speeds energy recovery, Hunters can Roll, Dokkaebi get Club Tap and a wrestling prank, and Geomancers find an auspicious spot on each floor. • Half-Yokai mutations are now good, double-edged or bad, with twelve new ones such as Webbed Feet, Dokkaebi Horn and Bat Ears. • Heal-on-kill effects only work on your own kills, and never on minions a boss summoned. • The Rat King now transforms from half HP, at most three times per run. • Japanese is now supported and turns on automatically when your device language is Japanese. • Shrines, ponds, bamboo groves and yards now sit in open clearings, by the water or along wide paths instead of walled rooms. • The Guide's Cave has been redecorated, with clearer guidance for inspecting the pig and casting spells. • Every dungeon now has moving ambience: bats in the mine, drifting dust in the tomb, fox-fire in the den, sparks at the market and more. • Foes now take poison from poison pools too. Venomous creatures, ghosts and stone bodies are immune to poison. • Shoves and the Lion's Roar can knock foes into deep water, and the first floor of your first dungeon has no named foes. • Many other bugs fixed.
