About PinSpots: Spots from friends

PinSpots is a map of the places your friends said were worth going to. Saved places keep piling up and you still do not know where to go. The problem was never storage — it was whose judgement you were reading. The screenshots, the starred pins, the folder of posts you meant to come back to: none of them tell you which one is right for you. The friend whose clothes you end up asking about does. So does the one who has never once sent you to a bad restaurant. Search their name and the list is only theirs. Not the highest rated place nearby — the place one particular person thought was worth telling you about. WHO THIS IS FOR • You have half an hour in town and no interest in a review by someone you have never met • You want to know where to eat near the office and be back in forty minutes • You are going somewhere new and you know one person who lives there • A friend is visiting your city and you want to show them the good parts • You have no friends on here yet and you just want to keep your own list WALKING AROUND TOWN Open the map and the pins around you are the ones your friends put there, each with a line about why. Tap one and walk. AT THE OFFICE The person two desks over has been eating lunch around here for three years. Add them, and everything they know is on your map — the place worth the extra walk, the one to take a visitor to, the one quiet enough to take a call. SOMEWHERE NEW Four days in a city and you know one person who lives there. Scan their code and their spots are on your map before you have dropped your bags. Not a guide written for everyone who visits, but the places one person who lives there actually sends people to. SHOW SOMEONE YOUR CITY The other way round is harder. Send a friend the name of a place and they cannot find it on a map. Explain why it is good and you end up writing it twice, once in your language and once in theirs. Write your line once, in your own. When your friend opens it on a phone set to another language, it is already in theirs. The translation happens on their device, so nothing you wrote is sent anywhere. Addresses appear in the reader's language too. Only the name of the place stays as it is — that is the one they will be matching against the sign on the door. START ON YOUR OWN You do not need a single friend on the first day. Drop a pin somewhere you like and write one line about why. That alone makes it a map of the places you mean to get to. Add as many as you want; there is no limit. Bookmark a friend's spot or any place you come across, and it waits for you in My Pins. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add a friend by QR code or invite code 2. Drop a pin on a place you like, and write a line about why 3. Their pins appear on your map, and yours on theirs Every recommendation comes with up to 140 characters. Enough to say "go at sunset" or "order the second thing on the menu". Not enough to write a review, which is the point. Written in a language you do not read? It is already translated when you open it. ONLY YOUR FRIENDS SEE YOUR PINS Your recommendations are visible to your friends and to nobody else. There is no public feed, no follower count, no algorithm deciding who sees what. You connect by scanning a code in person or sending one to someone you know, never by being suggested to strangers. Your current location stays on your device. We do not send it to our servers, we never use where you have been to target advertising, and we do not hand it to anyone else. PinSpots is free, with no subscription and nothing to buy.
