About Derin: Fish Game

Derin is a quiet fishing game. Tap to cast, let the line sink, and reel when something bites — that's the whole game, and it goes surprisingly deep. SIX REAL WATERS Start on a pier at Lake Saimaa and sail on to the Bosphorus, Okinawa's reefs, a Norwegian fjord, the wild seas off Cape Horn and finally the Mariana Trench, 1,500 metres straight down. Each place has its own light, its own skyline and its own fish. 29 SPECIES, EACH DRAWN BY HAND Roach, perch and pike in the lake. Anchovy, bluefish and turbot in the strait. Reef fish, pufferfish and sea turtles in the tropics. Cod, salmon and king crab in the north. Greenland shark, giant octopus and beaked whale in the deep. And down in the trench: anglerfish and dragonfish. Every species lives at its own depth — where you park the hook is the whole tactic. TWO WAYS TO FIGHT Small fish dart sideways; point the rod at them or they slip the hook. Big fish pull straight down; reel too hard and the line snaps. Feel it in your fingers — the tension, the reel clicks, the strike — with haptics tuned for each species. GEAR THAT CHANGES THE GAME Longer line reaches deeper water. Stronger line holds bigger fish. Five baits that don't just get "better" — a fly brings small fish and many bites, live bait brings only the giants. CALM BY DESIGN No timers, no energy, no daily chores. Everything you see and hear is drawn and synthesised by the game itself: the water, the birds, the aurora over the fjord, the reel, the splash. Derin is free, supported by an occasional ad between dives and an optional video that doubles a catch. Made in İstanbul.

What’s new

Version 1.0.2 · Updated September 24, 2026

A big visual update. • Every fish now has its own colours and markings — perch stripes, trout spots, reef-fish bands — and your catches show up in colour in the creel. • The water comes alive: shimmering light near the surface, sun glints, drifting particles, bubbles, and glowing creatures in the deep. • Shipwrecks rest on the seabed: a rowboat, a galleon, a WWII freighter, a Viking ship and a clipper. • Clouds in the sky, and the angler got a proper hat. • Fixed: after a fast dive the deep water could stay empty — the deep fish now show up as they should. • Now in German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.
