About Read Together: Kids Stories

Read Together turns reading aloud into taking turns: first the app reads a part aloud, then it’s your child’s turn. LISTEN AND READ ALONG Every story is read by a calm narrator. The word being spoken lights up in yellow, so your child follows the text with their eyes and learns along the way how words look and sound. NOW YOU After each narrated paragraph comes a short paragraph in large print that your child reads on their own: at their own pace, with no timer and no points. If they get stuck, a tap on a word reads it aloud. LIKE A REAL BOOK Pages to turn, pictures that look drawn with colored pencils, an easy-to-read school font (Andika) in four sizes, and a reading speed you can slow down. Books are downloaded in full and work without internet. The shelf remembers where you stopped. THE BOOKSHOP Turn the shelf around: on its back is the bookshop with ready-made stories, sorted by level, plus books for learning a language. Every week a different book is in the shop window. Some books are free; the others you get with the book subscription. YOUR OWN BOOK With the book subscription you can have your own books made: choose one to three people and a place – your neighborhood, your vacation spot, Grandma’s village. A photo becomes a drawn character, the place is researched first, and about ten minutes later a new illustrated story, read aloud, is on your shelf. The places are real, the story is made up. Text, pictures and voice are created with the help of AI. Books can be written in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian or Dutch – also as a foreign language in simple words. SHARE Every book has a code and a QR code. Grandparents and friends use it to add the book to their own app. NO ADS, NO ACCOUNT No ads, no tracking, no sign-up. Reading progress stays on the device. BOOK SUBSCRIPTION Reading, adding books by code, the free books in the bookshop and sharing are free. The book subscription gives you three books a month, your own or from the bookshop, and unused ones add up to six. If you’d like more, you can buy single books on top. The subscription renews automatically every month unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
