About Altair: Planetary Log
Altair is an anonymous one-line log adrift in space. Write a single line, and the moon's phase and your region are saved with it. A four-character code is your only name. ■ Write one line Write when you feel like it; it doesn't have to be every day. Public and friends-only logs are up to 140 characters, and private logs can run longer. Each time, you choose public, friends, or private. A private log appears nowhere but your own records — a diary no one else can see. You can add a photo, or attach music with a YouTube link. ■ Logs get observed A public log no one has read stays veiled. The first traveler to open it becomes its first observer, marked on the log for good. Once observed, a log can't be undone — so opening one carries weight, and so does leaving one. ■ A voyage from planet to planet Build up logs and a launch window opens to the next planet. From Earth through Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, out to interstellar space. There's no rush — if you stop writing, the voyage waits where you left it. ■ Alone, but not only alone Under the same moon phase, other travelers' anonymous logs drift too. Leave a like on a line that reaches you, and a comment on one that's been observed. Save the ones you want to keep close. With people you know, become friends and share friends-only logs. ■ Anonymous to the end No name, no profile. A four-character code is all there is, and a nickname, if you set one, is seen only by you. Location is kept to a rough region — never your exact coordinates. A recovery code lets you return on a new device. ■ Safe and quiet Logs and comments can be reported and blocked, and text is checked automatically when posted. The screen stays quiet — a dark sky, the moon's phase, and your line. Today, one line is enough.
