Hikage: Shade Map for Walks

Am I in the shade, and where is the nearest shade? Open the map and you know in three seconds. Hikage draws the shadow every building is casting right now, from its real height and the position of the sun. Not a photograph, not a forecast — the shade where you are standing. ■ In shade now, and until when If you are in shade, when the sun reaches you. If you are in the sun, which way the nearest shade is and how far. Press and hold anywhere on the map to see when that spot falls into shade today. ■ Choose the shadier way Up to three walking routes to your destination, side by side. The fastest one, and the ones that trade a few minutes for less sun. You see exactly how many minutes each costs and how many minutes of sun it saves. ■ A walk with no destination Say how long you want to be out. Hikage proposes a stroll — there and back, or one way — that keeps to the shade. ■ What the sun did to you Your walk is recorded and coloured by sun and shade. Look back by day, week, month or year. Apple Watch's time in daylight and your step count sit alongside it. ■ Apple Watch The same answer on your wrist. A Live Activity keeps the minutes remaining, and the minutes in the sun, in front of you while you walk. ■ Little data, no tracking Every shadow is computed on your device. Where you have been is never sent anywhere. Cities: San Francisco, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Yokohama, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal
