About EMPRISE: Tactical Card Duel

Two Orders. Eight cards. A board of twenty squares. EMPRISE is a tactical card duel in a dark fantasy world: no card draw, no dice, and the only luck imposed on you is who goes first. HOW IT PLAYS • Each card carries four ranks, one per side. Place it next to an enemy card: if your rank is higher than the one it faces, that card switches to your side. • Resonance: make two exact ties in one move, and the tied enemy cards fall together. • Ripple: cards taken by a Resonance fight for you at once, and the chain can turn the whole board. • Reserve: before each duel, set two cards aside. On a perfect tie, Sudden Death brings them back. If the tie still holds, the Last Word decides. A duel never ends in a draw. TEN ORDERS, TEN ABILITIES Choose two Orders before every duel, or let chance choose for you. Your eight cards are their four cards each, and the duel is won in their alliance. • Gilded: reversed combat, they capture stronger neighbors. • Cinders: pull the nearest card on each side, ally or enemy. • Pikes: pierce the cards lined up in each direction. • Archers: capture in a straight line, even at range. • Abyssals: each Abyssal in play strengthens the others. • Chimeras: flip the rank of each adjacent enemy. • Plagued: poison the four neighboring squares. • Guardians: +1 on the attacked rank, for the length of the fight. • Scribes: ranks hidden in hand, and for a turn after placing. • Cursed: grow stronger each time they are captured. PLAY YOUR WAY • Against an Echo: four levels, from Novice to Warlord, with Undo and the Augur's advice if you want them. • Story mode: eight chapters, 56 games and a story told from prologue to ending. Finish a chapter to earn its Herald, the superior ability of its Order, and its banner. • Daily Riddle: one puzzle a day on the real board, the same for everyone, and a single right move. Find it and earn Keys. • The Ordeal: each week, spend your Keys against the Wardens and climb the weekly leaderboard. First place wins an exclusive banner and medallion. • Ranked: climb the leagues from Bronze to Legend, all the way to the Pantheon. • Classic match: matched online, with your Heralds, no trophies at stake. • Friends: challenge a friend from your list, chat during the game, ask for a rematch. • Tournaments: eight Commanders, solo against the Echo or online with a shared code. • Confluence: eight drafted Orders, the same hand for both sides. • Two players, one phone: take turns on the same screen. YOUR COMMANDER • Commander levels, daily and weekly quests, the Flame of your ranked streak and a rewards calendar. • The Campaign: a two-month season with a free track for everyone. The Oath opens the second track. • The Treaties: ten pairs of Orders, ten titles that tell the Commander you are. • Rush Hour: every evening from 9 to 11 pm, XP and coins are doubled online. • Emotes spoken by your medallion, and a Shop of boards, card backs, banners, medallions and emote bubbles. FAIR PLAY • Free to play, no ads. • Heralds can also be bought in the app, and are never played in Ranked, tournaments or the Ordeal. • Save your progress with your Apple or Google account and pick it up on another device. • In English and French. A full match can be played with VoiceOver. A problem, an idea? Write to us from the Settings: everything is read.
