Bona Via: Camino de Santiago

Bona Via: buen camino for those who walk in faith. Since antiquity, anyone setting out on pilgrimage was given a wish: bona via — good way. Bona Via was born to be that wish made companion: it walks with you, from the first step to the destination, on foot or by bike. THE CAMINOS, INSIDE THE APP • Camino Francés (763 km), Primitivo (311 km), Portuguese Coastal (269 km), Portuguese Central (243 km), Fisterra and Muxía (122 km), Inglés (104 km) and the Caminho da Fé (300 km), in Brazil. • Official route and elevation stored on the device: distances and climbs measured along the way, with no need for internet or a data plan abroad. • The classic stages of each route, as the guidebooks divide them, with the distance and ascent of each one. • Albergues, guesthouses and places to eat all along the route, offline too. YOU CHOOSE THE WAY. BONA VIA HANDLES THE REST. • Pick a route and the app fills in the start and the finish — or set whatever journey your heart asks for. • Each day you freely choose your destination. The app suggests albergues within your pace and marks the ones that end a classic stage. • Plan your dates: the app warns you if the schedule is too tight for your pace. WHEN THE SIGNAL RUNS OUT • With no internet, Bona Via draws its own map: the route, the ground already covered, your position, the destination and the albergues nearby. • On the Caminos de Santiago, the app reminds you at every stage that the yellow arrow is always the reference, and that the stone markers count the kilometres to Santiago — and wishes you "¡Buen Camino!". ON YOUR WRIST, ONLY WHAT MATTERS (APPLE WATCH) • How far is left, in distance and in time, and the expected arrival. • An arrow pointing to the day's destination, and the climbing still ahead. • Water and rest reminders. • Pause, resume and finish the stage without taking the iPhone out of your pocket — ideal for cyclists. READY BEFORE YOU SET OFF • Weather along the stage, with alerts for heat, rain, storms, wind and UV. • A warning when arrival falls close to nightfall. • "What to take": water, snacks, sunscreen, rain gear and a torch, in the right measure. • Where to sleep and where to eat at the day's destination, with phone numbers and directions. SAFETY FIRST • SOS button on iPhone and Apple Watch: a message with your location to your contacts, and a direct call to the emergency numbers of the country you are in. • Automatic alerts to family: those at home follow along on iPhone or iPad and get notified of departure, arrival, delay, a long stop, low battery and SOS — without you touching anything. • Medical ID always at hand. • Guidance on using Apple's Emergency SOS and Fall Detection. WALKING TOGETHER • See who else is heading to the same destination today. Optional, nickname only — your position is never shown. THE MEMORY OF YOUR PILGRIMAGE • A photo album where every picture remembers the place it was taken. • A final map with each stage in its own colour, distance, time, ascent and the weather of each day. • An image ready to share with those who walked with you in prayer. Bona Via. May your way be good — and may you arrive. Route and place data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Forecast: Apple Weather. Bona Via does not replace emergency services or medical advice.
