About Hifz — Memorize the Quran

Learn the surahs by heart, one verse at a time — even if you can't read Arabic. Hifz never asks you to swallow a whole surah. Each session works on one verse at a time, then links it to the last ones you know. It's the snowball method: the surah holds itself together. MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ ARABIC On first launch, the app asks whether you read Arabic. If not, no exercise will ever ask you to decipher it: everything goes through transliteration and the meaning in your language. The Arabic text stays on screen for your eyes, and becomes playable the day you learn to read it. LEARN FIRST, THEN PRACTICE "Learn first" opens the whole surah: the recitation, the transliteration to read aloud, the translation. Listen, repeat, loop a verse, slow the reciter down. When you feel ready, move on to practice. FIVE STEPS PER VERSE • Heard — listen and repeat, text and meaning in front of you • Pronounced — put the words back in order, in transliteration • Understood — the translation and the missing word • Rebuilt — the verse rebuilt word by word • By heart — no help at all, then recited with the text hidden THE CHAIN From the second verse on, every session ends with the chain: you recite the last verses you know (up to four), then today's, without looking. Sessions stay short, even on the long surahs. Need a hint? It reveals one word at a time. NO SHORTCUTS A surah only counts as learned once every verse has reached the top and you recite it in full, from the first verse to the last. Then it goes into spaced review: tomorrow, in three days, a week, then further and further apart — until it stays. THE WHOLE OF JUZ AMMA 38 surahs — all of Juz Amma, plus Al-Fatiha — ordered from shortest to longest. You start with Al-Kawthar and its three verses. Already know one? "I already know it" marks it as learned in one tap. LISTEN ANYWHERE Four reciters: Mishary Alafasy, Al-Husary, El-Minshawi, Maher Al-Muaiqly. The first surahs ship with the app (recited by Mishary Alafasy). The surah you're on and the next one are saved automatically for your chosen reciter, and you can download the others — so you can listen offline, on the train or on a walk. ALSO INSIDE • A daily reminder at the time you choose • Levels, a day streak, a daily goal • Arabic text size, transliteration and translation are all adjustable • Available in English, French, Turkish, German, Dutch and Spanish • No account, no ads: your progress stays on your phone. What’s new

Version 1.2.0 · Updated October 17, 2026

Thanks for using Hifz! We fixed session length on the long surahs: the chain now goes over the last verses you've learned instead of the whole surah every time. You recite the full surah once, to validate it. Your progress is kept. New: Hifz is now available in English, Turkish, German, Dutch and Spanish, with the meaning of the verses in each language.
