About KalyKala climb & belay partner
Find a climbing partner at your crag. KalyKala Climbers matches you with climbers who are actually there while you are — on Kalymnos, in Leonidio, the Frankenjura, at Red Rock and beyond. Every season thousands of climbers turn up at a crag without a belay partner. KalyKala Climbers is a small, focused partner finder built to fix exactly that. Pick your area, set your trip dates, and swipe through climbers whose trip overlaps yours. When you both tap "Climb" on each other, you match and a chat opens. This is not a dating app. It is a climbing partner finder for sport climbers, built by climbers. WHERE YOU CAN FIND A CLIMBING PARTNER - Greece: Kalymnos, Leonidio - Germany: Frankenjura - Israel: Timna Park, Ein Prat, Gita, Zanoah, Kachal - USA: Red Rock (Nevada), Joshua Tree (California) More crags are added as climbers ask for them. Don't see yours? Request it in the app, add what you know about it, and we'll notify you the moment it goes live. CLIMBING ON KALYMNOS Kalymnos is where KalyKala Climbers began. If you are flying in for a week or staying the whole season and need a belayer, set your dates and you will see every climber whose trip overlaps yours — plus island links and a Kalymnos lost-and-found board in the Help tab. YOUR HOME CRAG Climbing where you live? Set your home crag once and you stay in that crag's feed year-round, with no trip dates to keep updating. Visitors see you as a local; you see everyone passing through. Locals are the climbers who make a crag work — this is how the app keeps them visible. WHAT YOU'LL SEE ON EACH CLIMBER CARD - First name and photo - Whether they're at the crag now, their trip dates, or that it's their home crag - Which zones of the area they're focused on, where an area is split - Languages they speak - Crag comfort: easy / moderate / hard sport, multi-pitch - Belay comfort: beginner / confident / experienced — be honest, it matters - Belay device (ATC, GriGri, etc.) and whether they carry an Edelrid Ohm - Rope length, quickdraw count, transport (car / scooter / needs a ride) - A short note — what they're after this trip HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in with Apple or Google. 2. Build your climbing profile — about two minutes. 3. Swipe right ("Climb") on climbers you'd like to rope up with, left to pass. 4. When you both Climb each other, you match and a chat opens. 5. Meet at the crag, check their belay, and go climb. You only see climbers in your area whose trip overlaps yours — no scrolling through people who left last month or arrive after you've gone. SAFETY Climbing is inherently dangerous. We do not vet, screen, or background-check anyone — every profile is self-reported, including stated experience and belay competence. You are responsible for your own safety and for choosing the right partner. Meet at the crag in a public spot, check your partner's knots and gear before you rope up, and climb within your ability. You must accept our Terms and Privacy Policy and confirm you are 18 or older before you can sign in. Report and block are one tap away on every climber card and in every chat. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours. Zero tolerance for abusive users. YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL - Delete your account at any time — Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account. Your profile, photos, likes, matches, and messages go with it. - Download your data at any time — Profile → Edit Profile → Download my data, as a JSON file. - Privacy policy: https://kalykala.com/climbers/privacy WHO IT'S FOR - Sport climbers on a climbing trip who need a partner at the crag - Solo travellers looking for a belayer - Pairs or groups looking for a third or fourth - Locals at their home crag, open to climbing with visitors - Anyone who has ever stood at the base of a route with no one to belay them You must be 18 or older to use the app. CONTACT Questions, bugs, ideas: [email protected] — or the Feedback button in the app's Help tab.
