Buy Me a Matcha: Tokyo Friends

You come to Japan. No friends. No Japanese. Buy Me a Matcha is for that moment. It shows you people near you in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto who are also new here, also looking for someone to hang out with, and who all speak English. SWIPE PEOPLE YOU'D GRAB A MATCHA WITH Each card shows why they're here — just visiting, working holiday, studying, or living here — and, if they're leaving soon, how many days they have left. IT'S A MATCHA! When you both want one, you can talk. MAKE A MATCHA PLAN Pick a place and a time, and what you'll have: matcha, coffee, or anything. They tap "I'm in". That's it — no week of "we should meet up sometime". MATCHA SHOT Share shots of your day. Each one develops into a polaroid and stays for 24 hours. MADE FOR BEING NEW Pick your city, then the neighbourhood or station you know. No GPS, no location tracking. See everyone, or only people of your own gender. MY TREAT Swipe up on someone and you go straight to the top of their deck, with "my treat" on your card. Whether anyone actually pays is between the two of you. SAFE BY DEFAULT Block and report from every profile and chat. A person reviews every report. Meet in public. Free: 3 matchas a day, unlimited chats and plans. Staying a while? Get more matchas, or go unlimited for a week, a month, or monthly — and see who already wants a matcha with you. 18+ only. English only, on purpose.
