About Japan Driving Theory Prep

Practice for the written (gakka) test for a Japanese driving licence. Chinese, Japanese and English — switch questions and explanations at any time. ■ 1487 questions, answers checked against the statutes Commercial question banks copy from each other, so their mistakes propagate. Every answer here was checked, article by article, against the primary sources on e-Gov: the Road Traffic Act, its Enforcement Order, its Enforcement Regulations, the Order on Road Signs, Lane Markings and Road Surface Markings, and the Road Structure Ordinance. Nothing is hidden. Where a source answer or explanation did not match current law, it is corrected, with the article cited beneath the question so you can check it yourself. Where the source bank had no question on a topic, one was written from the statute. ■ Mistake analysis that tells you what to fix first Most apps rank weak areas by error rate. The result: a minor topic you answered three times tops the list, while the big topic that is actually costing you marks is buried. This app ranks by the marks you would lose on the real test — the topic's share of the bank × your error rate × the number of questions on the test. The first line you see is the one most worth your time. Topics with few samples are down-weighted automatically; three questions never become a conclusion. ■ How many marks short of passing you are Your whole history, scaled to the real test's question count, with your projected score and the distance to the pass line. "64% accuracy" is not useful. "13 marks short, 9 of them in road signs" is. ■ Also · Three exam scopes: foreign-licence conversion (50 questions, 90%), provisional licence, full licence · 136 road-sign images, each checked against Appendix 1 of the Signs Order · Key-rule cards for 20 topics, plus a breakdown of 7 kinds of trap question (near-synonyms, swapped figures, inclusive/exclusive bounds, absolute wording, and more) · "Progressive" mode re-asks points you got wrong, but substitutes a question on the same point with the opposite statement — so you learn the rule, not the question number · Mistake list, score history, and which way you err (marking true statements false, or the reverse) · Quick-reference tables: figures, right-of-way order, sign categories — for a last pass before the test · Dark mode, sound, text size ■ Privacy and price Completely free. No in-app purchases, and no account needed for any feature. Your records stay on your device by default. Only if you choose to sign in do they sync between your own devices, and you can delete the account from inside the app. ■ Disclaimer This app is a study tool, not legal advice. The law changes; we keep up with it but do not guarantee the content matches the current law at every moment. The actual exam is set and marked by each prefectural public safety commission. When driving, follow the signs and police instructions in front of you.
