About Syllabo: IB revision, made fun
Syllabo is a study app for the IB Diploma, built for the 5 to 30 minutes you actually have. Sessions that choose the content Pick a time and Syllabo picks the content: your weakest syllabus points, the mistakes you haven't fixed and the topics your next test covers. Warm-up, lesson card, recall, application and an exam-format question, then done. Your IB subjects, HL and SL 29 IB Diploma subjects across Groups 1 to 5, from Biology, Chemistry, Physics and both Maths courses to Economics, Business, Global Politics, Geography, History, Psychology, Computer Science, ESS and language courses. More than 53,000 original questions, each tagged to an official syllabus point and given a difficulty level from Warm-up to Expert, with key terms, lesson cards and common misconceptions. Calculation questions come in many versions with different numbers. Marking against the mark scheme Write your answer in your own words. Syllabo marks it against the mark scheme by meaning, not word-for-word, shows which marking points you earned and highlights the ones you missed. If you disagree, you can override the mark. Diagrams you draw Sketch the diagram the question asks for, from supply and demand shifts and externalities to energy profiles, molecular shapes, field lines, hydrographs and curve sketches. Compare it with a model diagram, tick off the marking points, or have AI mark your drawing when you're signed in. Works with a finger, Apple Pencil, or a trackpad on Mac. Your notes, turned into practice Scan or photograph your class notes, paste them, or send a PDF, Word or PowerPoint file to Syllabo. It turns them into flashcards tagged to the syllabus, and with AI switched on, exam-style questions too. Past papers and an exam countdown Questions in IB paper format with command terms and mark allocations. Add your tests and exams, and sessions lean towards what is coming up. Group syllabus points into the units your school actually teaches. An AI tutor that knows your syllabus Ask it to explain, quiz you, mark an answer or set an IB-style question. It knows your subject, syllabus point, mastery and recent mistakes. It works offline from the built-in curriculum, and with an online account it becomes a full AI tutor powered by Claude. Teach it back Explain a topic to your study buddy by typing or speaking, and see which parts you left out. Streaks, skins, leagues and duels Keep a daily streak with your study buddy. Studying earns coins, which open crates of skins for your buddy. Join a weekly league, challenge friends to duels on the same ten questions, and choose exactly what friends can see. Your account on every device Create an account to back up your progress and sign in on iPhone, iPad or Mac, or continue as a guest and create one later without losing anything. Daily reminders are optional. Themes and text size Navy, dark and light themes, and adjustable text size. No ads, no tracking No ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your study data is used only to run the app. Syllabo is not affiliated with or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
What’s new
Version 1.9.1 · Updated October 21, 2026
Questions checked against the IB guides, marking that works the way an examiner marks, maths and science set like the exam paper, and full science lessons. Questions checked against the real exam • Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, SEHS and Global Politics questions were reviewed against the IB guides, and the errors found were fixed. • Many Maths AA and Biology questions were rewritten to read and mark like real paper questions. • True or false items are now real multiple choice, near-identical questions became different ones, and extra calculation drills beyond what the papers set were taken out. • Global Politics questions are now real paper parts, including essays and Paper 3 questions on your own researched case. • Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths and Economics follow their current IB guides. Questions on topics the guides dropped are gone. Marking like an examiner • Essays are marked by level bands, as the IB marks them. Without AI marking, Syllabo no longer guesses: it shows the bands and a model answer and asks how it went. • Error carried forward: a later step done right with your own wrong earlier value still earns its mark. • Number answers follow IB rounding: exact or 3 significant figures in maths. • Copying the question back, giving two answers to cover both, or listing keywords no longer earns marks. • A calculation followed by a choice, such as "PED = 2, so demand is elastic", earns both marks. • An answer that says the opposite of the mark scheme ("does not release oxygen") no longer earns the mark, and "1,000 kg" is read as one thousand. Typeset like the paper • Maths AA and AI questions, answers and the formula booklet show fractions stacked, powers on the right bracket, limits on integrals and matrices in brackets. • Physics, Chemistry, Biology and the other science subjects show formulas, units and nuclides as the paper prints them, in questions, booklets and lessons. • The tutor's maths is typeset the same way. New questions, not repeats • Sessions give you questions you haven't done before. A question you got wrong doesn't come back as it was: you get a similar one with other numbers or wording, so you learn the method rather than the answer. Getting that one right fixes the mistake. To redo the original, open it from Mistakes. Lessons for Chemistry, Physics and Biology • Every topic has a full written lesson with worked examples and quick checks, and it works offline. Quick sessions that fill their time • Five and ten minute sessions now hold five and ten minutes of questions, with one question that needs working. A calculator outside maths • Number answers in other subjects get a calculator keypad with an = key. Physics adds sin, cos, tan, e and ln. Smaller fixes • Questions made from your notes no longer show the marker's instructions as the model answer. • Notes you import, and coins handed back to you, are kept when another device syncs. • Deleting an online account asks you to sign in again first, so it is deleted online too. • Rewards say "Ninja", not "Ninja skin".
