Beyond UV: Sunscreen Reminders

UV Index is useful, but it is not the whole day. Beyond UV shows Apple Weather's UV Index next to UVA Context, Beyond UV's own modeled estimate of longer-wave UV, on the same familiar 0–11+ scale. The UV Index is weighted to sunburn and barely counts UVA, which gets through clouds and window glass all year. UV NOW uses the higher level of the two signals. The numbers are never added or averaged. Tap Start now when you head out and Beyond UV reminds you to reapply sunscreen, with a Lock Screen Live Activity, one-tap Reapplied, and an Apple Watch app. Set a UV alert at the level you choose for each place. A 5-day hourly forecast shows how UV Index and UVA Context move through each day, and Protect can find a lower-UV time for an activity you can move.
