Madeira Guide: Weather, Trails

Madeira has several climate zones on one small island. Funchal can be in sun while the north coast is in cloud. This app shows the weather where you are standing, and what is open today. FREE - Weather for 19 places, each with the hours ahead. Tap a place on the 3D map. - Trail status from the regional forest service, mirrored daily: open, restricted or closed. Trail heads on the map, and how to book the paid trails. - Every beach and swimming place, and what kind it is: sand, black pebbles, lava pools or a sea-water lido, with or without lifeguards. - 124 places to go with children, checked against the venues' own websites: prices, ages, opening hours, and which ones work in the rain. - What is on today: festivals, concerts, markets, village feasts. Cruise ships in port, and how busy the old town will be. - Wind at Funchal airport, hour by hour, 3 days out. Tides, webcams, and the odds of a sunrise above the clouds. PORTO SANTO Switch islands on the map and Porto Santo opens on a 3D model of its own: its beaches, its walking trails and how to book them, webcams, places for children, tours on the island, and three ready-made days, from a day trip on the ferry to two days on the island. The ferry timetable from Funchal is in the cruise calendar, with the next sailing on the Now tab. READY-MADE DAYS Routes drawn on the 3D map, day by day: numbered stops, walking lines, timings, where to eat, notes for families, and the dates the weather favours. Take the days in any order. - "First taste · 3 days" is free: Funchal on foot, the lava pools of the north coast, above the clouds at Pico do Arieiro. - Longer packages are separate one-time purchases, each opening only its own days. There is no subscription. Purchases restore through your Apple Account. WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL Screens you have opened and packages you have bought stay readable on a mountain road. A free account, made with Apple, Google or an emailed code, opens everything beyond the live map. The app has no ads and does not track you across other apps. SOURCES ON EVERY SCREEN Warnings and forecasts come from IPMA, trail status from IFCN (the regional forest service), ships in port from APRAM, and the weather from Open-Meteo.
