About Carat: Jewelry & Diamond ID

Point your camera at any piece of jewelry. Carat tells you what it is, whether it is likely genuine, and what it is worth in three markets — from the photograph alone. WHAT ONE PHOTO TELLS YOU • Metal and purity: yellow, white or rose gold, platinum, silver — and the karat, read from the hallmark when there is one and from colour and wear when there is not • Every stone: diamond, sapphire, ruby, emerald, pearl, moissanite, cubic zirconia — natural, lab-grown or simulant, with the reasons • Hallmarks read verbatim: 750, 585, 925, PT950, maker's marks, date letters • 4C estimates for diamonds: carat, cut, colour, clarity — marked as estimates, never as a lab grade • A rarity index from Common to Exceptional IS IT REAL? Carat does not stamp "FAKE" on your ring. It gives a three-step verdict — likely genuine, inconclusive, likely simulant — with the evidence for and against, and tells you which test would settle it. WHAT IS IT WORTH? Three numbers, not one: the melt value of the metal, what it resells for, and what it costs to replace at retail. Every figure is grounded in recent completed sales and comes with its sources. When there is not enough evidence, Carat says so instead of guessing. THE VAULT Every piece you identify is kept on your phone with its photographs, value and notes. Total value, total carats and verified count at a glance. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it. ASK MARCEL Ask follow-up questions about your piece — how to clean it, where to sell it, what a hallmark means. WHAT IT IS NOT Carat's figures are AI estimates, not certified appraisals or grading reports. For insurance or a sale, have a certified gemologist examine the piece. MEMBERSHIP Carat requires a subscription. Annual and weekly plans are available, plus a one-time lifetime purchase. The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
