About Acolá: Draw Together

Somewhere in the world, someone just drew half a cat. The other half is up to you. In Acolá, a drawing passes back and forth between two people who have never met. You add your part, it goes back to the other side, and so on, round after round, until the clock runs out. At the end, the two of you are looking at something neither would have drawn alone. The cat comes back wearing a hat. The house gets a moon. The face you drew so carefully turns into a potato, and there is nothing you can do about it, and that is the best part. Who is on the other side stays a mystery, for both of you. It could be someone in the next town or across the ocean. QUICK ROUNDS Each turn lasts 10, 15 or 30 seconds, and you choose before you start. Time enough for a tail, a moon or a pair of boots, and pass it on. Nobody needs to know how to draw. THREE WAYS TO PLAY Play: one tap and you are already continuing someone's drawing. Draw first: you start something and leave it for a stranger to continue. Practice: you draw on your own, at your own pace. This is the quiet one. WHAT YOU DRAW WITH Four brushes that behave like real ones. A round brush that thickens slowly and thins away to nothing. An airbrush that builds up by density, so passing twice over the same place makes it darker. A square marker with a flat, even edge. And a chisel nib that changes weight with the direction of your hand. Twelve colors, an eraser that works like any other brush, and two fingers to zoom and turn the sheet while you draw. A DRAWING TO KEEP When the match ends, the drawing you made together can be saved and shared wherever you like. And if you would rather play with friends than strangers, the invite is in the menu. Acolá speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish. LIGHT AND PRIVATE Open it, draw. No account, no sign-up. A nickname is optional: it stays on your device and goes only to the person you are playing with. Drawings travel between the two devices during the match and live on in the picture you save. The only drawing we keep is one somebody reports, for ninety days, so a person can look at it. If you turn notices on, we also keep the address used to tell your device that a drawing is waiting for you. Acolá is free and shows ads. Our ad partner may collect device identifiers, approximate location and usage data to show and measure ads, according to your choice in the iPhone tracking prompt. Details are in the privacy policy. SAFE TO PLAY Players talk to each other only by drawing. You can leave any match with one tap and report anything that bothers you, from any screen. For people aged 18 and over.
