Gloam: Social Circles

Ever wish you had a group chat for the things you like doing? That’s basically why Gloam exists. It’s a place to find small groups built around interests, hobbies, and random things you want to do. Find people who are into the same stuff, start a conversation, and actually make plans. Maybe you want people to try new restaurants with. Maybe you’re looking for a hiking group. Maybe you want to find other photographers, readers, plant people, thrifters, board gamers, concert buddies, coffee shop explorers, or people who are always up for trying something new. Or maybe your interest is oddly specific. That’s okay too. ### FIND A GROUP Browse groups based on things you’re actually interested in. Some are broad. Some are ridiculously specific. Some might just be a handful of people who thought, “Hey, I’d like to find other people who do this too.” Find one that sounds like your kind of thing and join in. ### MAKE YOUR OWN Can’t find the group you’re looking for? Make one. Start a group around a hobby, an activity, a neighborhood, a type of food, a shared obsession, or whatever else you want. Invite some friends. Let other people discover it. Keep it small. Let it grow. It’s yours. ### MAKE A PLAN This is the part we really like. Someone can say, “Anyone want to get coffee this weekend?” Someone else can suggest a hike. Someone can organize a photo walk, dinner, game night, thrift trip, concert, or completely last-minute adventure. Pick a time. See who’s in. Go do the thing. Plans can be spontaneous or planned weeks ahead. There’s no right way to do it. ### TALK, SHARE, HANG OUT Every group has a space to talk before and after you meet. Ask questions. Make a poll. Share a photo. Recommend a place. Figure out who's bringing snacks. And when you actually get together, you can share photos and memories afterward. ### A LITTLE DIFFERENT Gloam isn't really about followers, likes, going viral, or having thousands of people in your audience. It's about finding a few people who like the same things you do. The kind of people where you find yourself thinking: “Wait, you like that too?” That's the whole idea. ### PRIVATE WHEN YOU WANT IT TO BE Groups can be private or discoverable, and group hosts can choose how people join. Meetup locations can stay hidden until you RSVP, and you have control over what you share.
