Prayer Times Athan: Vakithane

Vakithane is a plain prayer times app that works anywhere in the world. Athan notifications, a qibla compass, a monthly timetable, home screen widgets and a live countdown on your lock screen in one place. It makes two promises: the countdown never disappears, and no full-screen ad ever blocks your prayer times. A prayer countdown that stays put The next prayer and a live countdown sit on your lock screen, in the Dynamic Island and in your notifications. The countdown and the athan alert run independently of the app: even if you never open it, the time stays in place and the countdown keeps running. No full-screen ads No ad to watch, no close button to hunt for, no subscription screen just to see a prayer time. There is one small banner at the very bottom of the screen; it never covers the times and never greets you at launch. Works worldwide Cities and districts in 202 countries, with times from the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Travel to Paris, London, Berlin or New York and the app switches to your new city on its own. Search finds a place without picking a country first: type "Cairo" and tap it. Far from any listed city, prayer times are calculated from your coordinates so the app keeps working. English and Turkish The whole app — screens, notifications, widgets and the lock screen countdown — is available in English and Turkish. It follows your phone language by default, and you can pin it to either language in Settings. Widgets on the home and lock screen The next prayer, its time and a running countdown on your home screen. Make the widget taller and all six daily times appear with the next one highlighted. Lock screen widgets come in three shapes: inline, rectangular and circular. Athan notifications, your way Choose the notification sound and vibration in the app. You can be warned a few minutes before a prayer, switch each of the six times on or off, and even pick your own athan recording. Qibla compass The qibla angle and the distance to the Kaaba for your exact location. The compass uses the phone's orientation sensor and needs no internet. Prayer tracker Mark a prayer as prayed with one tap — from the app or straight from the notification — and see your last week and month at a glance. Monthly timetable A whole month of prayer times on one screen: fajr, sunrise, dhuhr, asr, maghrib and isha, day by day. Verse of the day A daily verse notification, with the Arabic original and the Pickthall translation inside the app. It is off by default and you choose the time. Verses never repeat within a cycle and arrive even when the app is closed. Religious days Holy nights, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, the eves, Ashura, the Islamic New Year and the start of the Three Months on one screen; the upcoming day appears at the bottom of the main screen. Optional notifications arrive the evening before and that morning, and are off by default. Dates follow the list published by the Diyanet. No account, no permission pile No sign-up, no login. Times are stored on your device and stay there when the connection drops. Location is optional and approximate only; your coordinates never leave the phone. Prayer times come from the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Vakithane is not an official Diyanet app.
