About TrailSafe-Offline GPX Recorder
TrailSafe is a genuinely local, privacy-first GPS track recorder: no servers, no account, no ads, and no telemetry. It keeps recording even when your screen is locked or the app is in the background. Every location point stays on your device and is excluded from iCloud device backups by default. Export standard GPX files in raw or smoothed form, import tracks from other apps, drop waypoints, view elevation profiles, and recover unfinished recordings automatically. Made for hikers, trail runners and mountain bikers who value privacy. Works fully offline — your tracks always belong to you.
What’s new
Version 4.0 · Updated October 21, 2026
What’s new: smoothed tracks are cleaner — compare the raw and smoothed profiles before exporting, and pick the smoothing strength in Settings. Drag the elevation profile to read the altitude, distance and time of any point, with a new up / down / flat breakdown. Attach a photo to a waypoint and view it full screen. Your track list is now grouped by day and can be collapsed. On iOS 17 or later you can pause, resume or drop a waypoint straight from the Lock Screen — and the timer no longer stalls. Choose raw or smoothed when exporting several tracks at once. Workouts are saved to Apple Health with the matching sport (hiking, trail running, cycling).
