About Warm Up Arrangements (Choir)
Warming up, with a plan. Warm Up Arrangements is a collection of exercises for choir directors — made for the tablet on your music stand, not for the desk at home. 134 exercises from choral practice, sorted into the three phases of a warm-up: • Body and Mind — relaxation, focus, energy • Voice — easing in, going low, going high • The Gym — short and long workouts Every exercise comes with instructions, a "Why? Here's why!" on the thinking behind it, usually a graphic, and for many of them an audio example. YOUR WARM-UP IN THREE STEPS Choose — In the exercise pool you put together what suits today. Every rehearsal starts differently: sometimes the choir is tired, sometimes restless, sometimes a concert is coming up. Arrange — In your arrangement you set the order, show graphics and texts as reminders, and pull out a keyboard when you need to give starting notes. In rehearsal you simply read from top to bottom. Keep — Arrangements that worked go into your library and can be loaded again at any time. WHAT ELSE THE APP DOES Numbers or notation — the same exercise as scale degrees or in staff notation. One tap switches the view, for everyone who reads differently. Audio examples — listen to many of the exercises before you try them with your choir. Sung by my family, not generated. Keyword search — 18 purposes, from breath and support through intonation to improvisation, cut across the whole collection. Only working on chromaticism today? One tap is enough. Your own exercises — your favourites belong here too. Create them, tag them, and combine them with the built-in ones. The Little Book — five chapters on the method: the three phases, jazz and pop core skills, why new exercises need time. Two languages — English and German, in full: all exercises, all explanations and the Little Book. A button on the home screen switches the language, even mid-rehearsal, with no restart. WHAT YOU GET All 134 exercises, all explanations, audio examples and the Little Book are included in full. You can create up to 5 exercises of your own per warm-up phase (15 in total) and save up to 10 arrangements in your library. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU The app collects nothing, sends nothing and needs no account. Everything you create stays on your device. FROM TWO SOLD-OUT PRINT RUNS The collection goes back to the book "Warm Up Arrangements", out of print for years. As an app it can do more than printed pages ever could — and there are no pages to turn. Prof. Juan M. V. Garcia teaches choral conducting at the Universitie of Music "Franz Liszt" Weimar.
