About Fretforge: Fretboard Theory

Fretforge brings guitar chords, scales, ear training and practice tools together. Everything runs offline and is completely free: no account, ads or subscription. CHORD DICTIONARY Explore 15 chord types in all 12 keys, with selected playable guitar fingerings. See finger numbers, barre positions, open and muted strings, the actual bass note and chord tones. Listen to a strum, arpeggio or chord, save favourites and explore related scales. SCALE DICTIONARY Explore 12 scale types, including major and minor pentatonic, blues and modes. Practise five pentatonic positions and fixed study positions for seven-note scales. Switch between note names and degrees, highlight roots and chord tones, and hear ascending, descending and three-note sequences. PIANO EAR TRAINING Practise recognising intervals and major, minor, diminished and augmented triads. Choose your answer set and listening direction. Complete 10-question sessions, replay as often as you need and compare sounds after answering. First answers count towards your score. PRACTICE TOOLS • Drum machine: 8 grooves, 6 drum tracks, editable steps, swing, count-in, tap tempo and saved custom grooves. • Tuner: Standard, Eb, D standard, Drop D, Drop C and DADGAD tuning, with nearest-string guidance and string locking. • Metronome: 30–300 BPM, per-beat accent, normal and silent settings, tap tempo and full-screen flash that keeps the screen awake while enabled. • Record practice takes and review beat-aligned waveforms. LESSONS AND FRETBOARD DRILLS Your 52 bilingual lessons, six fretboard practice modes, Daily Drill, Rush and circle of fifths remain accessible in Tools. Existing progress, favourites and practice recordings stay on your device. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, server, tracking or analytics. Microphone access is used only for the tuner and optional practice recordings; ear training does not need the microphone. Practice data and recordings are stored locally. Bundled piano and drum sound credits and licences are available in Settings. English and Simplified Chinese. Designed for iPhone and iPad.
