About Parloy: Vocabulary Builder

Most English apps teach you to recognize words. Parloy teaches you to say them. Every day, Parloy gives you a small set of new words, then has you speak them out loud, in real sentences, with feedback that's fair to your accent. No scoring you against a native speaker. No penalty for a German "th" or a Spanish "v." Just practice, every day, until it sticks. SPEAK FROM DAY ONE Most vocabulary apps ask you to tap the right answer. Parloy asks you to say it, because recognizing a word and being able to use it in conversation are different skills, and only one of them helps you at the coffee machine. SPACED REPETITION, DONE QUIETLY Underneath the speaking practice is a real spaced-repetition engine. Words you know well show up less. Words you're shaky on come back sooner. You don't see the machinery, you just notice you're not forgetting things anymore. 5,000 WORDS, ORDERED BY WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY USE Starting from the most common English words and building up, Parloy covers the vocabulary that makes up the vast majority of everyday conversation, not obscure words chosen to pad a word count. QUIET WHEN YOU NEED IT Can't talk on the train? Practice mode switches to tapping and listening instead same words, same progress, no mic required. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Speech recognition happens on your device. Your voice is never sent to a server to be graded. A FEW MINUTES A DAY Each session takes about five minutes. No hearts, no streak-shaming, no guilt notifications, just a daily habit that adds up. Your first 15 words are free. A subscription unlocks the rest around 5,000 words in total, with new words added at your own pace, every day. --- Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

What’s new

Version 1.6.3 · Updated October 14, 2026

Switching between Today, Words and Progress is now much faster. • Faster tabs: Today, Words and Progress open without the pause you may have noticed before. • Smoother Words list: coming back to your words no longer rebuilds the whole list. • Steadier with a big library: the app stays responsive as the number of words you have learned grows.
