About CinéFile: Watch Record & Decks
CinéFile is the record of everything you've watched, built by swiping. It remembers what you've seen and what you made of it, keeps your place in what you're watching, and looks ahead to what's coming. Television today. Films arrive in January 2027, filed into the same Record. THE FIRST HAND Open the app and ten titles everyone knows are dealt to you. Swipe right for Seen, left for Unseen, up for Binge-able. Ten answers and your Record is open. From there every deck is a hundred cards cut from your own Record, leaning toward what you actually watch, with room left for the one you'd never have searched for. THE RECORD Every answer lives in a room: Seen, Binge-able, Tempted, Some, Unseen, Unsure. Each room is a grid of posters you can sort by year or by genre, or narrow to the services you hold. Score anything from 1 to 100 and leave a line. Turn a card over for the cast, the years and the summary. A skyline of posters shows the decades your Record comes from. Years on, it is still there: a memory of everything you watched and what you thought of it. NOW WATCHING Tell CinéFile what you're in the middle of and it keeps your place: episodes ticked, the next one waiting, seasons laid flat, "I'm caught up" in one tap. Finish something and it says so, counts the finish, and offers three titles chosen for that moment. It works the same for a series airing weekly and one from 2004 you're finally getting through. THE FORECAST What's ahead for the titles you follow: new episodes, returning seasons, premieres, finales, a trailer while it's new. Tonight, the week, the month, the season, the year. The Hype shows what's on the way that isn't on your Record yet. Home Screen widgets put tonight and this week on your phone without opening the app. YOUR DNA The names and themes behind your Record, cut into shelves: the creator you keep coming back to, the thread running through what you watch, what your friends love. A fresh row of recommendations every day, and every pick says why: who made it, where it sits in your Record, how long it runs, where it streams. WATCH WITH FRIENDS Invite anyone to watch something together, by message or by link. Everyone marks their progress at their own pace, sees where the others are, and talks about it in one thread. Find friends by name, see how closely your Records match and which titles you both love. THE CLERK Ask what to watch next. It answers from your Record alone. FILMS, FROM JANUARY 2027 Every film you've seen, dealt the same way and filed beside the television. One Record of everything you've watched, from the first thing you remember to whatever is next. YOUR RECORD IS YOURS No account needed. Your Record lives on your phone with a durable copy for safekeeping. Sign in with Apple if you choose, so a new phone finds it by itself; a transfer code does the same. Settings can delete it everywhere in one step. Nothing on the Record is sold or shared. Art, scores and details come from TMDB, with TVmaze where TMDB has none. This application uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
