About Pills Taken

Most medication apps are built for the person setting them up. This one is built for the person taking the pills. On their iPhone there is one screen. It shows the next pill, what it looks like, and a single large button that says TAKEN. There is no list to scroll, no menu, no settings to get lost in, and nothing to type. When there is nothing due, it says so and gets out of the way. Everything else happens somewhere else. A family member opens the web app in any browser and adds the medications, the times, and the instructions. What they enter appears on the phone. When the button is pressed, they see it. SETTING IT UP TAKES ONE PHONE CALL The person with the phone taps Invite Family and reads six characters out loud. Whoever is helping types them in. That is the entire setup. They never enter their own medications, never make an account, and never type a password. The six characters skip the letters and numbers that get misheard on a phone call, and a character that could not have been in a code is refused rather than guessed at. WHAT THE FAMILY SEES - Whether today's doses were confirmed, and when - The last seven days at a glance - A notification if a dose goes unconfirmed past its window - A printable summary to take to an appointment - Blood pressure, weight and notes, if they choose to keep them - How many pills are left, and a warning before the bottle runs out - More than one family member, with full access or view only REMINDERS THAT KEEP WORKING Each pill is nudged when it is due, ten minutes later, and twenty minutes later, after which the screen softens to say the dose is running late rather than shouting about it. Nothing arrives between midnight and six in the morning. A dose belongs to a part of the day rather than to an exact minute, so taking a morning pill at twenty past eight is simply taking it, not missing it. If the phone travels to another time zone, the app does not quietly move the reminders. It tells the family and lets them decide. FREE, AND STAYING THAT WAY No subscription, no trial, no upgrade screen, and no in-app purchases. Both halves are free. There is no advertising and nothing is sold to anyone. WHAT IT IS NOT Pills Taken is a reminder and a record. It does not give medical advice and it does not decide what should be taken or when. Confirming a dose records that a button was pressed, not that a pill was swallowed. Anything about the medication itself belongs with a doctor or a pharmacist.
