About Cut the Cake: Invitations

Make hosting a piece of cake. Give your people something to look forward to, and something to look back on. Cut the Cake is for the person throwing the party: make an invitation that feels like you, watch the replies land, and give everyone a place to share what made it special. BEFORE Your photographs. Your words. Your kind of gathering. Seal it in an envelope that opens the way you choose: a lined letter, a pocketfold, a postcard, a front door, even a treasure map. Ask who's coming, who they're bringing and what they'd like to eat, and leave out what you don't need. Send invitations by email or share the link. The invitation link is all guests need, and they can use the app too. ON THE DAY The headcount and the meal counts, as they arrive. Seating you can move around and nametags you can print. Check guests in at the door. Run a photo booth on an iPad and put the album on the television. AFTER Everyone brings something to the party. Guests add photographs to a shared album, sign the guestbook and ask for a song. The page stays up the next morning, and long after. FOR VENUES If you host tastings, workshops or supper nights at your own place, your team plans around live replies, and guests can choose to hear from you again. We never send a host's guests anything they did not ask for. INVITED TO SOMETHING? Sign in with the address your invitation came to. The details, your reply and the album are all here. What’s new

Version 1.6.0 · Updated October 29, 2026

Cut the Cake 1.6 lets you design an invitation before you sign up: open the app, press Start an invitation, and keep it when you're ready. Deleting, unpublishing or archiving an event is one press, with Undo. On iPhone Duo the app opens across both screens, and an album's short link opens straight in the app.
