BeatStep: Walking Music Game

Walk to music. Turn everyday walks into a game. BeatStep is an iPhone rhythm game that turns your walking rhythm into a score. Choose an Apple Music song or a built-in demo, secure your iPhone in a front pocket or snug waist pouch, and get moving. Switch between Walking and Running to match your activity. Choose a song. We’ll find the rhythm. BeatStep looks up the tempo automatically. When it is available, start without tapping. If no tempo is found, BeatStep checks song information in your authorized iPhone media library. Only songs without tempo information need a 16-tap setup to the music. Your manual setting is saved for the next time you use the same song. Tempo availability varies by song. Automatic BPM is a constant-tempo estimate and judgments may drift if the tempo changes significantly. Songs with full beat data also support tempo changes. After each session, review your score, estimated distance, elapsed time, active time and average pace on the RESULT screen. Ranks, ratings, achievements and titles help you enjoy your progress over time. BeatStep does not use GPS or request location access. Measurements depend on how you carry your phone and how you move, and sensor updates may be delayed. Elapsed time is session time excluding music pauses. Active time is estimated from consecutive detected steps, excluding stationary intervals and music pauses. Average pace is active time divided by distance. A dash is shown when distance is below 10 meters or measurement is unavailable. Optional Health integration Read-only HealthKit access lets you review steps, walking and running distance, active energy and body mass. BeatStep does not write data to the Health app. BeatStep Pro Lifetime (one-time purchase) Unlock unlimited detailed history, per-song analysis, 7-day and 30-day graphs, longer-term Health trends, weight goals, advanced audio pace-coach settings, extra themes and additional share designs. This is not an auto-renewable subscription. No BeatStep account is required. Apple Music catalog playback requires eligible Apple Music access, such as an active subscription, and an internet connection. Tempo lookup uses ReccoBeats. You can delete BeatStep’s on-device data from the app. For safety, avoid looking at the screen while walking or running and stay aware of your surroundings.
