About Hira: Prayer Times & Qibla
Hira — your quiet space for worship. Hira brings prayer times, athan reminders, a qibla compass, the Quran and dhikr tools together in one calm, uncluttered app. There is no account and no sign-up: your worship data stays on your device. PRECISE PRAYER TIMES • Calculated on your device, offline — no connection needed once your location is set. • Six calculation methods, including Diyanet, ISNA and Umm al-Qura. • Hanafi or Shafi'i option for Asr. • Pick your city from a list if you prefer not to share your location. ATHAN REMINDERS • Reliable, on-time notifications for every prayer. • Choose the full adhan, a short adhan, or silent with vibration only. • Optional heads-up a few minutes before the time enters. QIBLA COMPASS • Sensor-assisted direction with haptic feedback when you are aligned. • Warns you about magnetic interference and guides you through calibration. • Mosque finder shows places of worship near you. THE HOLY QURAN • All 114 surahs with verse-by-verse recitation audio. • Adjustable text size and a bookmark that remembers where you stopped. DHIKR & THE 99 NAMES • Haptic dhikr counter with a target you set. • Asma ul-Husna, the 99 Names, to read and reflect on. ROUTINE & STREAK • Mark each prayer as done and watch your streak grow. • Hijri calendar with holy days and countdowns, fully offline. • Share your streak with friends as a beautiful card. • Focus Mode strips the screen down to a single calm space. SEVEN LANGUAGES Turkish, English, Arabic (right-to-left), Indonesian, French, German and Spanish — every screen fully translated. PRIVACY IS A TRUST Your location and worship data are processed and stored only on your device. They are never sent to our servers. To keep Hira free for everyone we show ads through Google AdMob, and we keep them out of the way: a small banner along the bottom, and full-screen ads only at natural moments between sections — never during setup, never in your first minutes in the app, and only a handful of times in any session. You can watch one short optional video to remove ads entirely for six hours. When you use the mosque finder, your coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap solely to complete that one search. Free, no account, no tracking of your worship. May it be of benefit.
What’s new
Version 1.1.3 · Updated September 8, 2026
This update fixes the "the mosque finder doesn't find mosques near me" defect users reported, plus several serious issues affecting the worship record: • The mosque finder now asks the device where you are. Previously the radar searched around the coordinates of the city you had once SELECTED and never asked the device: anyone who tapped "continue with Istanbul" during onboarding, or set their location months ago, saw that old city's mosques listed as "mosques near you". Worse, nothing on screen said which point was being searched, so the error was invisible. Now the device is asked first, the saved city is used only as a fallback, and the radar states plainly which one it used. • Prayer order at high latitudes: near the poles, Isha could fall AFTER the next day's Fajr. Night length was computed as if tomorrow's sunrise were at today's time; in spring, day length changes by up to 20 minutes a day, so the estimate ran longer than the real night. The night is now measured properly and the Fajr and Isha portions share it. • Qada tracking and the device clock: if the device date was moved forward and then corrected, settlement silently stopped until real time caught up — up to 59 days. It now recovers on its own. • Ads: the "no ads around prayer times" rule now covers the rewarded video too. The bottom banner also hides when a prayer time arrives while the app is open, and returns once the window passes. • Spanish home-screen texts were missing and fell back to English — added. • City search and Quran text were decoded with the wrong character set for some server responses and saved that way on the device ("KahramanmaraÅŸ" instead of "Kahramanmaraş"). Fixed. Thank you to everyone who reported these.
