Karana: Hinduism Made Easy

Karana is a daily Hindu practice you can actually keep. Light a lamp. Read a verse. Learn why the festival on Thursday is a festival. THE COMPLETE TEXTS The Bhagavad Gita verse by verse, with meaning, plus the Upanishads, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Puranas and the Rig Veda. Not summaries. The verses. THIRTEEN GUIDED JOURNEYS 404 narrated episodes that take a whole text one short sitting at a time, so a scripture becomes something you finish rather than something you mean to start. YOUR OWN CALENDAR Ekadashi, Pradosham, Sankashti and the rest, worked out from the sun and moon at your own latitude rather than looked up in a table. The day the moon returns to your birth nakshatra. Your region's new year. Family remembrances on their lunar tithi, which moves against the western calendar by eleven days a year. AND ALSO Seventy festivals, each with the story, the reason and what to actually do. Fifty-eight prayers and mantras with real recorded audio. Ten guided meditations, five to fifteen minutes. A puzzle a day, drawn from what you are learning. In ten Indian languages, plus English. The daily practice is free. Karana Plus opens every journey, every chapter, the meditations and your personal calendar. Terms of Use: https://www.getkarana.org/terms Privacy Policy: https://www.getkarana.org/privacy
