PlainWeather - Weather Safety

Existing weather apps need a live connection to tell you the forecast. PlainWeather is different: it's the offline safety-action layer that works when the signal drops — exactly the moment a severe-weather app matters most. 14 HAZARD ACTION GUIDES, FREE FOREVER Step-by-step before/during/after guidance for tornado, hurricane, flash flood, wildfire, blizzard, heatwave, lightning, hail, dust storm, storm surge, tsunami, avalanche, rip current, and derecho — including a Myths & Mistakes section per hazard debunking real misconceptions (the overpass "shelter" myth, opening windows for tornadoes, and more). 28 SAFETY CALCULATORS & REFERENCE TOOLS A live lightning flash-to-bang countdown, heat index, wind chill/frostbite, WBGT work-rest estimator, dew point, snow load, Beaufort wind scale, sunburn time-to-burn, a plain-language Watch vs. Warning explainer, regional seasonal risk profiles, air quality and UV guides, marine advisories, and prep checklists for families, vehicles, power outages, and evacuation routes. 11 ACTIVITY GO/NO-GO GUIDES Weather-driven decision checklists for hiking and outdoor work, farming frost windows, fishing and boating conditions, cycling and running, construction stoppage thresholds, school outdoor-activity heat guidance, your daily commute, and road-trip and travel planning — built for outdoor workers, parents, commuters, and travelers alike. BUILT FOR THE MOMENT THE SIGNAL DROPS • 100% offline for every safety-critical feature — no network required on any path that keeps you safe. • An optional, opt-in offline peer-to-peer alert relay can pass a cached warning to nearby PlainWeather users over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi with zero internet and zero server. • Kids' and Elderly accessibility profiles, an icon-first low-literacy mode, and read-aloud guides for every hazard and activity. • Full Spanish translation, with more languages planned. • A printable/shareable household safety card for anyone without a smartphone. YOUR INFORMATION STAYS YOURS No account and no analytics. Ads (Google AdMob) appear in free content and can be removed with the one-time Remove Ads purchase. The only optional network call fetches your free NOAA/NWS forecast when you have signal — cached locally the moment it arrives, with a visible "last updated" time. PLAINWEATHER PRO (OPTIONAL, NEVER SAFETY-CRITICAL) Every hazard guide, every safety tool, and every go/no-go checklist is free, forever — full stop. PlainWeather Pro is available as either a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription — your choice — adding convenience depth only: a Historical Worst-Case Reference (how bad each hazard has actually gotten, with real examples), Pollen & Seasonal Allergy Notes, an Event & Wedding Weather Planner, and Gardening Frost Protection guidance. A lapsed or cancelled subscription never removes anything safety-critical. IMPORTANT: PlainWeather provides general safety guidance for informational purposes and is not a substitute for official emergency instructions. Always follow guidance from your local emergency management authorities. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
