Twaf

Twaf is a daily companion for the Ge'ez calendar and the Orthodox Tewahedo tradition — for the Ethiopian and Eritrean diaspora, and for anyone walking this path of fasting and prayer. Know today's fast, automatically. Great Lent, Nineveh, Advent, Wednesdays and Fridays, and named fasts and feasts — computed from the Ge'ez calendar and Orthodox Easter. See the year on the Year Wheel — tap to explore fasting seasons and feasts. Pray by candlelight. Open a prayer and a twaf lights the page as you read — morning, midday, and evening. Follow Sunday readings in English, Tigrigna, and Amharic, with a focused reading view and opening and closing responses. Weekly readings refresh online when available from the readings service; an internet connection is needed for new readings. Keep today's calendar and fasting information close with the medium Home Screen widget. Meet the saints woven into your calendar through short, sourced profiles. Read Scripture, prepare for confession, and explore the Fasting Guide. Find a church. Browse Ethiopian and Eritrean congregations by city. Plan a wedding. Explore Saturdays and Sundays outside fasting periods. Switch between English, Tigrigna, and Amharic anytime. Core calendar and bundled prayer content are available offline. No account is required. Your saved preferences and private notes are stored on your device. Online readings and external links require network access. Dates are provided for reference. Please confirm observance-critical details with your parish priest.
