About Lexo – Lire & Lezen

Lexo teaches reading in French, Dutch and German with systematic phonics: one sound at a time, short games, and little stories a child can genuinely decode alone. THREE PATHS • Listen & find — meet each sound, hear it blend into a syllable, then spot it among letters, syllables and words. • Build the words — put sounds in order to form words. • Stories — decodable books: every story uses only sounds already learned. Each page is read aloud; tap any word to hear it. BUILT FOR LEARNING • Structured phonics progression (33 French sounds, 40 Dutch, 39 German — the whole alphabet) • Lessons adapt to the child: one more go when needed, faster when it clicks • Immediate, kind correction: try again, never punished • Daily goal, reading streak and optional reminders for parents • Three languages: French, Dutch and German • Parent corner behind a gate, with mastery overview • Made for iPhone and iPad PRIVACY FIRST • No data collected, no accounts, no ads • Everything stays on the device Natural, built-in voices read every sound, letter and word aloud.

What’s new

Version 1.3.0 · Updated October 19, 2026

Every sound lesson now follows the way reading is taught at school: see the letter, hear its sound, watch it blend into a syllable, then read it yourself before finding it by ear. Lessons adapt: a child who gets it moves on sooner, a child who hesitates gets one more go. Each session starts with a quick review of sounds already learned. Parents can set a daily goal (1, 2 or 3 activities) that counts for the star and the streak, and switch stories to "the child reads first". Syllables are pronounced more cleanly. Dutch: every vowel now says its real sound (short a as in "appel", not the letter name), the letters uu, ei, au and ch are taught, and the long vowels aa, oo, ee come earlier so real words appear from the first weeks. German: ä, ö, ü and eu are blended with the consonants, and st/sp at the start of a word are taught as one sound.
