About Storytrace: Swipe Into History

Why are school buses yellow? Why is the save icon a floppy disk? Why do we say "OK"? You scroll, and you come out understanding more of the world. Storytrace starts from something you already know — an object, a word, a habit — and goes back until it finds where it came from. Every case ends on THE TRACE: the one line that changes how you see the thing you looked at this morning. SCROLLING, EXCEPT YOU COME OUT KNOWING SOMETHING Same thumb, same ten minutes, different thing left at the end of them. A story takes about a minute — a commute, a queue, a coffee — and you close it in one sitting. Then you have something to say at dinner. EVERY ANSWER COMES WITH THE WHY — RIGHT OR WRONG Most quiz apps tell you "Correct!" and move on. That teaches nothing: you never find out whether you were right for the right reason. Here, every question explains itself — the ones you get right included. A ROUND EVERY DAY Four quiz games and a fresh daily round: which came first, true or false, the bigger number, the odd one out. Your best round is kept, and it is yours to beat. WHAT YOU KEEP Each closed case leaves a card in your collection, and a trace you can retell. Questions come back on a spaced schedule — tonight, then three days, then a week, then three weeks — so what you scrolled past in March is still yours in June. BUILT AGAINST THE HABITS OF THE GENRE No ads, not even for ourselves. No account to create, ever. The whole archive is open from the first minute: no case is ever locked away from you. And being wrong never costs you anything, on any tier. HOW THE FREE TIER WORKS Five hearts a day. One heart opens a story, and you read it whole; re-reading is free, always. Being wrong costs nothing at all — the whole point of this app is that you are wrong, and then you know why. The daily round is free every day. Extra rounds are a wager rather than a toll: score 9 out of 10 or better and they cost nothing, below that they cost one heart. Hearts come back with the new day, and running out never interrupts the story you are reading. STORYTRACE UNLIMITED Unlimited hearts. Scroll the whole archive back to back, with nothing between you and the next story, and every quiz round free whatever you score. Available monthly, yearly, or as a single payment for lifetime access. Prices are set per country by the App Store and shown in your own currency, inside the app, before you confirm anything. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel yours at any time in your App Store account settings. What’s new

Version 1.0.1 · Updated August 29, 2026

Plenty of new stories. Everything is short-form now — one story a minute. Enough to learn a lot in very little time, and more are on the way. And the rest: • The guided tour has been rebuilt from start to finish. One gesture to make at each step, and you always know where you are. • The feed scrolls cleanly now: no more hitch when moving from one story to the next. • Every story was reread in French and English side by side. A few passages that repeated or contradicted each other have been fixed. • Better title legibility on light covers.
