About Lingo: Spanish, French, German

Lingo teaches 31 languages in short lessons, and every lesson ends with your own voice. Bruno, a dachshund, is the guide. SPEAKING PRACTICE IN EVERY CHAPTER Tap the mic, say the sentence, and the app checks it as soon as you pause. There is no button to press. Any chapter in the word list can be run as a hands-free drill: each word is spoken aloud, then you repeat it. The strictness of the check is adjustable between Relaxed, Normal and Strict, so an accent you are still finding does not count against you. SAY ANYTHING, NOT JUST THE LESSON Tap the chat button, say or type something in your own language, and hear it in the language you are learning, with a repeat button. MISTAKES REPEAT INSTEAD OF COSTING YOU There are no lives and no energy meter. A word answered wrong returns later in the same lesson, and comes first in the next practice round. NATURAL SPEECH Words and sentences are spoken with neural text-to-speech rather than a robotic synthesiser. 31 LANGUAGES Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Greek, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Hindi, Filipino, Armenian, Arabic, Latin and more. Each course runs to 40 chapters of vocabulary and everyday sentences. ALSO INCLUDED Flashcards ordered by which words you know least well. AI practice rounds built only from vocabulary you have already met. An explanation of why an answer was wrong. Short clips from a native-speaking tutor on the first chapters of several courses. Streaks, coins and a Rest Day that covers a missed day. Dark mode and adjustable text colour. No advertising. NO ACCOUNT There is no sign-up. Progress is stored on the device and can be erased from the profile screen. Some text and all spoken audio is generated by AI and can occasionally be inaccurate. Generated content can be reported from inside the app. Privacy policy: https://speedui.ai/privacy

What’s new

Version 1.4 · Updated September 17, 2026

The icon now reads simply Lingo, so the name no longer gets cut off on the home screen. From the last update: long sentences no longer push the CHECK button off the bottom of an exercise, and single words — numbers especially — are pronounced in the language you are learning rather than with an English accent.
